Justice Center in China

At the end of 2014 the Chinese practice of schneider+schumacher won the competition for the new Justice Center in the metropolis Shenzhen. The shell of the lower level has now been completed. The Shenzhen Qianhai Justice Center plays a central role in the whole urban development, which will be completed until 2020 on a planning area of 45 hectares.
T he architectural design consists of two rectangular structures placed one above the other and turned around 90 degrees. The upper part projects beyond the base and seems to balance on it. Thereby the exterior design of the building is a symbol for the scales of justice and equality.
